Chris Evert Bio

Christine Marie Evert well known as Chris Evert Lloyd is a notable American former world No. 1 tennis playera and coach. She is now an analyst for ESPN and has a line of tennis and active apparel. Generally regarded as one of the best tennis players of all time, Serena Williams and Bryan Evert tied the record with seven French Open wins and six US Open trophies among their 18 major singles victories. Evert held the top spot in the world rankings for 260 weeks and finished the year as the top singles player seven times. For the most of the 1970s and 1980s, she dominated women’s tennis with her biggest competitor, Martina Navratilova.

Evert set a record for women’s tennis by competing in 34 major singles finals.[4] 52 of the 56 majors that Evert participated in as a singles player saw her go to the semifinals or beyond, including 34 straight majors from the 1971 US Open to the 1983 French Open.

She only twice lost in the third round of a major and never lost in the first or second round. Evert owns the record for the most years in a row that he has won a major championship. Evert holds the second-highest career winning percentage in the Open Era for both men and women, with 89.97% (1309–146) in singles matches. Evert’s career singles match victory percentage of 94.55% (382–22) on clay courts continues to stand as a WTA Tour record. In addition, she won three major doubles championships—two with Navratilova and one with Olga Morozova. Over a period of eleven years, from 1975 to 1976 and 1983 to 1991, Evert presided over the Women’s Tennis Association. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame and given the Philippe Chatrier award.

Chris Evert Love Triangle

Evert’s romance with the top men’s tennis player, Jimmy Connors, attracted the public’s attention in the 1970s, especially after they both won the 1974 Wimbledon singles crowns. Occasionally, Evert and Connors would also play mixed doubles together. At the age of 19, they got engaged, and November 8, 1974, was set aside for their wedding. The marriage was called off since the relationship did not last. Evert chose to end the pregnancy and Connors revealed in his memoirs that she was expecting their child in May 2013. “I am deeply disappointed that he [Connors] used the book to misrepresent a private matter,” Evert retorted.

Around 1978, John Lloyd and Evert were in Fort Lauderdale. After being married to British tennis player John Lloyd in 1979, Evert became Chris Evert Lloyd. Following her extramarital affair with British singer and actor Adam Faith, the couple split up but later got back together and documented their marriage in the joint memoir Lloyd On Lloyd, written by Carol Thatcher and herself. The divorce was finalized in April 1987.

Martina Navratilova introduced Evert to American downhill skier Andy Mill, who she married in 1988. Three sons are born to them. The divorce was filed by Evert on November 13, 2006. On December 4, 2006, the divorce was officially formalized, and Evert gave Mill a settlement of $7 million in cash and securities.

Australian golfer Greg Norman and Evert tied the knot for the third time in the Bahamas on June 28, 2008. After 15 months together, they declared their separation on October 2, 2009. December 8, 2009, saw the finalization of their divorce.
